The Content Operations Analyst will join the dynamic Enterprise Data & Advanced Analytics team within Data & Technology that applies data, analytics and AI to develop scalable business-first solutions for sustainable growth at OMERS. You will work alongside information management and data governance specialists on their team and partner with data and analytics specialists within businesses and corporate functions to design, develop, implement and scale advanced solutions to drive measurable business outcomes.

You will work closely with our business and technology teams to support the implementation of OMERS Enterprise Information and Data Governance program, focusing primarily on applying leading analytics capabilities to our content and collaboration platforms to enhance business agility and decision-making, and supporting projects related to the implementation of OMERS content management tools (i.e. SharePoint Online).

You will develop and nurture strong relationships with partners in a variety of different business units across our global portfolio, building an understanding of their needs and how to apply data, analytics and AI techniques to increase scale and operational efficiency, enhance self-service capabilities and elevate the understanding & application of these capabilities across the company.

You will also play a pivotal role to ensure that the Data and Technology team understands the detailed requirements from business partners and to provide technical solutions related to effective information and data governance, particularly as it relates to the customization of OMERS content management tools and the development and execution of OMERS data strategy.



As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

  • Fostering strong relationships among cross-functional teams and facilitating decision making within multi-level audiences. Applying a system thinking approach to lead execution of data, analytics and content management initiatives quickly and in collaboration with other teams
  • Understanding OMERS business functions, activities and transactions, as well as standard records and information management best practices to contribute practical solutions for both physical and electronic records in the development and implementation of the Enterprise Information and Data Governance Program
  • Working with business units to elicit, analyze and validate business requirements and working with technical resources to translate these requirements into technical design documentation for content management projects
  • Leading and supervising testing activities for content management projects
  • Finding opportunities to maximize analytics capabilities across content management platforms and implementing these capabilities in an optimal manner
  • Working with required Data and Technology teams to ensure that enterprise content management systems are designed in alignment with information and data governance best practices
  • Driving content innovation by posing open ended questions, exploring new insights, recommending the appropriate techniques to solve exciting business problems and rapid prototyping


To succeed in this role, you have:

  • An Undergraduate or Graduate University degree in Library and Information Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience designing user-centric content management solutions using SharePoint
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with data science, data visualization, machine learning for content management / unstructured data
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in transforming a large volume and variety of internal and external unstructured data
  • 3-5+ years of experience in business analysis, working specifically on content management related projects
  • A solid grasp of data quality, metadata management, and data governance standards and best practices
  • Experience working in the financial sector, ideally banks or investment firms, is an asset
  • Experience within Pensions, Investments and Commercial Real Estate sectors are an asset
  • Experience with other content management systems (Content Server, Box, iManage, DocuSign) and data governance tools (Collibra, Records365) is an asset
  • A passion around learning new technologies and analytical techniques with a track record of acting on this in prior roles and in their free time through projects, partnerships, mentoring and hackathons
  • Demonstrated experience as a leader in creatively addressing unique or ambiguous situations and motivating teams and delivering multiple projects simultaneously serving multiple partners
  • The ability to build relationships and facilitate across a diverse group of partners
  • Demonstrated experience in project and time management
  • Polished written and verbal communication and presentation skills targeted at all levels of the organization
